Dr. Bennett's journey is marked by resilience and determination, stemming from his experience as a former Division 1 basketball player for the Butler University Men’s Basketball team in Indianapolis, Indiana. Despite facing significant challenges such as an ACL rupture, meniscus tear, and patellar tendon rupture during his junior year of high school, Dr. Bennett persevered. Following three knee surgeries and a year of intensive rehabilitation, he concluded his senior season at New Castle High School by earning the title of National High School Comeback Player of the Year. Subsequently, after losing all of the scholarships he had earned prior to his knee injuries, he joined the Butler Men’s Basketball Team as a walk-on.

Driven by the belief that striving for excellence is paramount, Dr. Bennett embraced the challenge of being a walk-on player. His tenure at Butler University included participation in three NCAA tournament teams, culminating in a Sweet 16 run during his senior year. Despite his walk-on status, Dr. Bennett's leadership qualities were evident as he was selected as one of two team captains in his senior year. Halfway through that same season, he achieved his long-awaited goal of regaining the Division 1 scholarship he had lost 5 years earlier.

Following his graduation from Butler with a degree in Chemistry and Human Communication and Organizational Leadership, Dr. Bennett embarked on a four-year journey in medical school, immersing himself in the study of the human body and patient care. Throughout his medical school tenure, Dr. Bennett had success both in the classroom and the hospital wards, with attending physicians stating that Dr. Bennett was amongst the best and most prepared medical students they had ever encountered. Upon completing his medical education, Dr. Bennett secured a coveted position in Orthopedic Surgery, one of the most competitive fields in medicine.

Dr. Bennett's current focus involves intensive hands-on surgical training learning how to master surgical techniques in order to best care for patients who needs surgery. Dr. Bennett is also dedicated to research in sports-related injuries as well as leadership development within the medical community. Collaborating with a dedicated research team, he has been recognized with the top research award in the greater Dayton area for the past two years.

In addition to his contributions to the medical field, Dr. Bennett has actively sought mentorship from esteemed leaders nationwide, particularly within the sports industry. He recognizes that authentic leadership is rooted in service, aimed at empowering others to reach their full potential. Dr. Bennett is committed to providing individual leadership development as well as delivering keynote speeches on leadership, building a winning culture, and inspiring others to reach their full potential. He has been a featured speaker at numerous events focusing on these topics.

Through the establishment of Bennett Orthopedics and Leadership Development (BOLD), Dr. Bennett envisions a company that embodies the "walk-on mentality" that propelled him to earn a scholarship, attain team captaincy, secure acceptance into medical school as a Division 1 athlete, and excel in the competitive field of Orthopedic Surgery.
